Also, let's pause for a moment and recognize all that you accomplished in your Yoga practice! Thank you for your steady commitment to practicing together. Each time I see your face on screen (and the few I’ve seen in person) it fills me with joy.
Over the last year, I’ve been moving us safely and creatively to occasional intermediate peak poses. In reviewing the sequences for the year I wanted to highlight:
Standing Poses: Side plank with Extended Leg
Forward Folds: Tortoise Pose
Back Bends: Moving towards Drop Backs
Inversions: Headstand and Shoulder Stand with Lotus Legs
The amazing part of the practice is that anyBODY can do yoga. If you breathe you can do yoga. The peak isn’t the purpose, it’s a place we can journey to. We may not have reached these poses in every class, but a foundation has been laid to build strength and stability to maybe find them in the future.
The practice has so much to offer, not just physically, but also emotionally, energetically, and intellectually. I’d love to hear how your practice has grown in the last year!
I remember the first time I connected my practice to having calmer reactions in everyday life. I was like oh yeah that's what they mean by consistency. The Sutras say show up, consistently, and try with effort. How you define consistency is up to you. Has anything stood out to you in making a personal connection linked to your yoga practice?
As we move through the holiday season I wish you, your loved ones, pets, and your chosen families, love and happiness. You are always welcome to come and go from class as is right for your needs.
