Come as You Are

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been saying, “come as you are.” I mean it. I’m not expecting anyone other than who you are when you arrive in class. Come to yoga and be yourself. Be sweaty. Make contorted faces. Be open to what shows up for you. Be confident that I created this space for you to explore your body, mind, and spirit.  Be courageous. You are free to be you. As Cat Stevens once sang “If you want to sing out, sing out, and if you want to be free, be free, ‘Cause there's a million things to be.”  The texts of yoga only ask that you show up, show up consistently, and make an effort.

You are always welcome, whether you’re a regular, a newbie, or even if you’ve taken a break from practice. I’m here with wide open arms to welcome you. Just show up.  I don’t care what mat you use, what brand of clothing you wear, if you even know what a press handstand is. No matter where you are in your yoga journey, you are welcome in my class.

The texts of yoga don’t define consistency. That is open to however you want to define it: daily, weekly, twice a month, once a month, etc. Consistency, it’s like goal setting,  based on realistic, achievable outcomes.  Make a plan to practice and make it achievable. Once you see success and the effects of the consistency, then re-evaluate and see if you can change that goal.

I care about you completely, that you show up and understand that what you are giving is good enough. I fundamentally believe WE ARE ALREADY GOOD ENOUGH, STRONG ENOUGH, POWERFUL ENOUGH TO THRIVE Yoga is a tool. So whether your focus is expanding your physical abilities, creating internal stability, or managing emotional responses, yoga has a tool for that. Just make the effort.

Know that when you show up, I always have something for you. As a yoga teacher with over a decade of experience, I help students embrace their goodness, their strength, and their power.
